We paid tribute to Tectonic with a solid selection of tunes from Part 1 & 2 of their best of series spanning the years 2005 through 11 celebrating their 50th 12” release, #boomkatsayitbest:
Bristol’s original Dubstep stable rounds up the first four years of their illustrious catalogue. Spanning tracks from 12”s, 10”s and LPs, we find everything from stone cold scene classics like Pinch & P.Dutty’s evil ‘War Dub’, the label’s first release, through to 2562’s stylishly murderous ‘Techno Dread’. In between it’s like a history lesson for the most crucial years of Dubstep’s development, charted in Skream and Loefah’s dread halfstep classic ‘28 grams’, through more experimental strains of Moving Ninja’s ‘Uranium’, the evolved structures of Pinch and Rudey Lee’s ‘One Blood, One Source’, to the Teched-out propulsion of Skream’s ‘Percression’, and Martyn’s swinging special ‘Yet’.
