We got a request call during program last week from Sid for Wagon Christ and we were more than happy to oblige. Wagon Christ, real name Luke Vibert, goes by many a nom de plum, including; Plug, Kerrier District, Amen Andrews and Ace of Clubs etc etc. This versatile producer has released on many favourites, such as Ninja Tune, Rephlex, Warp, Planet mu… and of course Mo Wax. We featured a selection of tracks and styles from the man, opening the program with some classic Mo Wax (but a teaser for the bracket later in the program).

It must be said here he has to be one of the nicest and most humble of musicians. He was on the program back in 2006 performing a mix for the program, see flickr.

So, for those of you who don’t know the full and unexpurgated Luke Vibert story, it goes a little somethin’ like this: Luke Vibert was born and brought up in Cornwall. His dad was a crazy Jimi Hendrix fan and then got into punk. His mum preferred Yves Montand and the Beatles. He went to school. His favourite subject is unknown. more
